John Lewis Partnership BLAW 2026

We are proud to be joining organisations across the UK in supporting Sands during Baby Loss Awareness Week. By taking part in Sands Champions, we're standing together to raise the voices of parents and families, create safe spaces for conversation, and show support for colleagues, clients, and the wider baby loss community.

Sands is dedicated to ensuring that anyone affected by the loss of a baby receives the care, understanding and support they deserve. They campaign for change, provide specialist training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support vital research so that fewer babies die and fewer families experience this devastating loss.Your donation, whatever the amount, makes a meaningful difference.

  • £10 could provide a Bereavement Support Pack, with information and guidance for faimilies during the most difficult time.

  • £25 could provide a memory or Muslim care box, giving bereaved parents a treasured place to keep the precious moments they have with their baby.

  • £40 could fund a one hour Helpline call, providing a parent with someone to turn to when they need it most.

  • £100 could fund a two hour online support group, connecting families with Sands Bereavement Support Officers and others who truly understand.

  • £500 could provide a half-day of specialist face-to-face training for midwives, nurses and doctors, to further their knowledge and skills in safer maternity care.Thank you for supporting my fundraising and helping Sands be there for every family who needs them.

Remembering ‘Baby P’ - December 2024

Tuesday 6th Oct
In August 2024, Julian and I began trying to start our family together. On Christmas Eve I had a health scare that revealed we were expecting. I was rushed to the Early Pregnancy Emergency department where a scan showed a shadow in the fallopian tube, but nothing in the uterus. The doctors diagnosed me with a Pregnancy of Unknown Location. On 4th January I returned to Early Pregnancy Emergency department. During our second scan they informed us there were no signs of a visible pregnancy and my hormones had returned to normal, indicating miscarriage.

We recently celebrated what should have been ‘Baby P's first birthday on 14 Aug. While milestones can be hard, we are remaining hopeful for the future and remember ‘Baby P’ in every step of our journey.

Through this experience I found the Pregnancy and Baby Loss community within John Lewis where I work. I was welcomed with open arms and have been a part of the monthly support calls ever since. I have also taken up a role as co-chair of the Baby Loss Awareness Week committee, planning BLAW 2025 & 2026. I am immensely proud of the work we have done in this space. This year, Julian and I will be fundraising for the second annual Memory Walk for John Lewis x Sands.

Any donations are greatly appreciated and help to fund care and support for other families experiencing loss.
