I’m running 50k in September for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 50k in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Our Story

We weren't going to write down our story but having listen to the book, 'The worst girl gang ever', it made me realise that the stigma and silence needs to be taken out of baby loss. 

Since October 2024, Me and James have lost 3 babies. 
Prior to october last year i thought thrre was just one miscarriage, how wrong were we!! 

In October 24 we had a miscarriage at around 7 weeks, January 25 we lost a baby very early, classed as a chemical pregnancy,  then in July 2025 we attended a scan, to be told our baby no longer had a heartbeat, this led to surgery for removal of the baby. 

From the minute we found out we were expecting we were over the moon, our dreams coming true. The first pregnancy we were under the false belief that pregnancy should be kept quiet till 12 weeks in case of a miscarriage!!  This hurts more having to then tell family that we were pregnant, however we are now not. In July we thought everything was going well and on attending our scan, our world crashed down again, this time it felt harder to deal with, I had to have surgery and I needed help with coping, so i turned to charities, including Sands. 

No only did I have their support, but we also have the incredible support of family and friends who were aware of our situation. But now we feel that it is time to give back a little bit. So me, James and Chris are taking on 50k September to help the charity have much needed support to help other mums, dads and families. 

It doesn't matter how soon a miscarriage happens, from the minute that the pregnancy test told us that we were expecting, we  picture the future, the names, the due date, the love. 
It also doesn't just affect the parents, we had excited grandparents, uncles, and friends who would be aunties/uncles. Charities such as Sands help them too, not only to know abit more, but to also know how to support me and James more. 

Please help us reach our target to help other families going forward. 
We also want to thank you all for the support given to both me and James, whilst feeling like the unluckiest people in the world, we also realise how lucky we are to have all your love and support xx thank you
