I’m running 50k in May for families facing baby loss

Miles for Mia 💛

In October 2024, we lost our beautiful niece Mia at 29 weeks. She is so loved and so deeply missed.

Shortly after, our family took on “Marching for Mia” walking hundreds of kilometres in her honour and raising money for Sands. At the time, I was pregnant and couldn’t take part in the way I wanted to. That has stayed with me.

Since then, heartbreakingly, other close friends of ours have also experienced the loss of babies through stillbirth and miscarriage. It’s something no family should have to go through, yet so many do.

Now, post-partum, I want to do something meaningful in Mia’s memory, while also rebuilding my strength. So in May, I’ll be running 50km for “Miles for Mia” one step at a time, in honour of her and every much-loved baby who is sadly not here today.

I’m raising money for Sands, an incredible charity that supports anyone affected by the loss of a baby. They provide vital support during the darkest times, campaign for change, train healthcare professionals, and fund research to help save lives.

Anything you are able to give means so much not just to me, but to the families who need Sands.
