2026 Run 50k in September

I’m running 50k in September for families facing baby loss

I'm running 50k in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that fewer families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

My Updates

15/09/2026 - That makes 50

Tuesday 15th Sep
Today makes my 50th km run. I've enjoyed all this running and I have enjoyed that this has all been going towards a great cause. The run got difficult during the 3rd km as I felt a pull in my calf, but I'm glad I did not give up.

I shall raise my km target now to 75km and will aim to go beyond that.

Distance - 5.37km
Time - 31 minutes

12/09/2026 Park Run

Saturday 12th Sep
Another great run today at my local Park Run.
Took Little one's new running buggy for a full spin. Felt like a fully body workout 😂💪 But, it felt great afterwards. Little one fell asleep part way through and woke up for the finish line 😂.
Distance - 5km
Time - 30 minutes

Another nice and sunny afternoon for a run.
Another new route done as well. This should now be 30km+ done now. My aim now is to get to as close as I can do running 75km for the the remainder of the month.

Distance - 5.27km
Time - 28:11 minutes

Tuesday 8th Sep
Quite the wet one today.

I used the opportunity today while working from home to combine two separate routes I have already done beforehand.
Using the top half of the Catton Park Run route and adding another km to the route this now puts me just over the halfway mark to 50km.

Distance - 5.14km
Time - 28:10 minutes

5th Run - Park Run - 05/09/2026

Monday 7th Sep
1st Park Run for myself since June. And this time I was joined by my Wife and my Little one. We both wore our Sands tops and took our time around the course as this was my Wife's first run since having our little one.

A nice warm sunny morning with plenty of dogs about and a sleepy one in their running carriage.

Distance -5km
Time - 55 minutes

4th Run 04/09/2026 Man v Fat Football

Friday 4th Sep
Every Friday I play football for my local Man v Fat club. 6 teams with 3 games played every Friday. Great bunch of guys and something to always look forward to at the end of a busy week.
We lost 7-6 altogether 😂 but hey I got 1 in.
Distance - 2.57km
Time - 28 minutes

3rd Run 04/09/2026

Friday 4th Sep
Decided to go the other way out of the estate.

Nice little run around the area. Shorter run here as I have football later on tonight so will be adding another run hopefully later tonight :)

Distance - 3.75km
Time - 20:16 minutes

2nd Run - 03/09/2026

Thursday 3rd Sep
Really enjoyed the route from the last run. This time I did the route in reverse.
However I did not realise that this would be more of an up hill battle (literally lol).

Happy with the time also for this run. Next run I shall try a different route and see how we get on.

Distance - 6km

Time - 33:12 minutes

First Run - 01/09/2026

Tuesday 1st Sep
A good start to month so far. I was able to use my hour break from work to go and do my first run.
As today I was working from home, I had the opportunity scout out any routes that take my liking. I discovered a route that I had not used before and luckily it was not far from where I live. The route goes parallel with a main dual carriageway on one side, the city airport on the other and fields all around.

I shall use this route again for future runs and try and also get some good pictures of airplanes landing or taking off.

Distance - 6.12km
Time - 31:04 minutes
