I’m taking on the Sands Knitting Challenge 💜
I’ve committed to knitting a blanket for a very loved and much missed baby.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
Thank you.

Knitting with Love for SANDS
Friday 9th JanThere are moments in life when words just aren’t enough. When a family loses a baby, the grief is deep, quiet, and often invisible to the outside world. That’s why the work of SANDS – Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society is so incredibly important. They support anyone affected by the loss of a baby, offering comfort, understanding, and hope in the darkest of times.
This year, I’ve decided to do something small but meaningful to help. I’m knitting blankets for the precious babies cared for by SANDS and the families who need a little warmth and love during such heartbreaking moments.
Each blanket I make is stitched with care, compassion, and remembrance. They may be small, but I hope they bring even the tiniest bit of comfort to parents who are facing the unimaginable. A soft blanket can never take away the pain, but it can be a gentle reminder that they are not alone — that someone, somewhere, is thinking of them and their beautiful baby.
This project isn’t just about knitting. It’s about kindness. It’s about honouring lives that, although brief, mattered deeply. It’s about standing beside families in their grief and letting them know their babies will never be forgotten.
If my blankets can bring even a moment of peace, then every stitch is worth it.
Thank you to SANDS for the incredible work you do every single day, and to everyone who supports causes like this in any way they can. Together, we can wrap families in love when they need it most.
