Frequently Asked Questions

To sign up to the challenge, register for your knitting kit pack here.
When you register, your fundraising page will be automatically set up for you
What will I receive in my pack?
Is there an entry fee?
Yes it's £25 to enter the challenge.Â
Why does the Sands memory blanket need to be in white?
Sadly, there is great need for our Memory Boxes which go to bereaved parents from all walks of life and from different backgrounds and beliefs.
So, to ensure that Memory Boxes are appropriate for every baby, we only use white blankets as they are a neutral colour.
In some cases where a baby has died early in pregnancy, parents do not know the gender of their baby, and different colours can have different cultural significances.
Where do I send finished Memory Box blankets?
Sands Memory Box Blanket Appeal, C/O Partridges, Eagle Avenue, Magnetic Park, Desborough,Â
NN14 2WD. Please include your full contact details so that we can acknowledge receipt.Â
I have misplaced the knitting pattern can I download a copy?
Yes the pattern can be downloaded from here.
Can I crochet a blanket instead of knit?
You can absolutely take part by crocheting. There is a crochet pattern available on our website https://www.sands.org.uk/get-involvedfundraisingfundraising-resources/crochet-pattern
Please note that the pack purchased as part of the challenge contains knitting needles and patternonly, but we would love for you to take part if you have your own crochet tools 💜🧡

No you can do this challenge at your own pace. You can knit one blanket or may choose to knit more.
