I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss
I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Monday 10th AugI’m taking on the challenge of walking 100 kilometres to raise money for Sands, a charity that is incredibly close to my heart.
I have personally experienced the heartbreak of six miscarriages, and I know just how devastating it is to lose a baby you already love and have dreamed of meeting. I also have friends who have experienced stillbirth and the unimaginable loss of their babies shortly after birth.
Pregnancy and baby loss can leave an emptiness that is incredibly difficult to put into words. Behind every loss is a family, a baby who was loved, and a lifetime of memories and dreams that were never able to happen.
Sands supports families who have experienced the death of a baby, helping them through some of the darkest moments of their lives. They also work to improve care, raise awareness and ensure that no bereaved family has to feel completely alone.
So, I’m putting my body through 100K of walking, one step at a time, for every baby who was loved, wanted and missed. 🦋
Six losses have shaped my life. Countless others have shaped the lives of people I love. This walk is my way of turning some of that pain into something positive.
