We’re running 2k a day in Febuary for families facing baby loss

When you form friendships throughout highschool into adulthood you get to experience each others first loves, wild holidays, new careers, weddings and plenty of happiness… but you also support each other through some of the darkest times. We’re a village of women who have become parents together, we’ve had the privilege of watching each other share the most incredible journey since 2011… each safe arrival has bought us all pride, joy (and an endless stream of labour stories) !

But so many of our village have struggled with pregnancy and baby loss! Children that were so greatly loved and wanted, due dates that we shared with each other that never came, pieces of our family that will always be missing and never, ever forgotten!

We’re all running at least 2km every day of February, each step is for the babies we didn’t get to hold but we still talk about and celebrate every day. It’s also for all the rainbow babies that followed, that bought the sunshine again, our moons and our stars! Raising money for research in the hope that our children don’t have to experience miscarriage and baby loss as so many of our village has!

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby.
