2026 Run 50k in September

I’m running 50k in September for families facing baby loss

I'm running 50k in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that fewer families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

First park run since 2022!

Saturday 22nd Aug
I ran a few park runs back in 2021/22 but stopped. Lots of reasons why I didn’t run, mostly mental health related but after this morning I wish I hadn’t stopped! It was really nice to run with other people again. Park run is always friendly and encouraging.
Today was a little sad as a local running legend, Maurice, passed away on his Sunday morning run this week. We remembered him with a minute’s applause, which was lovely.

The run… well it was a bit tough. I’ve not run Bury Field before and would say it’s only a summer venue! All grass, quite uneven in places, but really beautiful. I did struggle with pacing and heart rate a bit; 172 is a tad too high and I need to keep it in the 150 - 160 bracket a bit more. Work to do there, but a good practice for next month’s challenge.
