Rainbow Walk

I’m doing a Rainbow Walk for families facing baby loss

I’m doing a Rainbow Walk for every precious baby and to raise vital funds to help save babies’ lives. Every day in the UK, 13 babies die shortly before, during or soon after birth. Your donation, big or small, will help fund research to understand why babies die and how maternity care can be improved.
Thank you for helping to create a world where fewer babies die.

Day 5 💜 We made it to Santiago!

Tuesday 20th Oct

After 5 days walking and more than 120km, we finally arrived in Santiago! 🥹💜

We reached the beautiful Chapel of Santiago, and what a special moment it was. I was exhausted, my feet were covered in blisters, but it was all worth it. What an adventure!

A BIG thank you to everyone who donated and helped me reach my fundraising goal. 🙏💜 This cause means so much to me.

No one is prepared to lose a baby, and sadly, it happens to so many families. Having charities like Sands there to support them, listen to them and help them through such a difficult time is so important.

Thank you all for being part of this journey and helping me support such an important cause. It means more than you know. 💜

Day 4 💜

Monday 19th Oct

Today we walked from A Laxe to San Miguel de Castro. 30km and over 40,000 steps! 😅 Our longest walk so far!

It was a beautiful day, and I really enjoyed walking and chatting with my friends.

Today I realised how easy it is to focus on reaching the destination and forget to enjoy the way there. Something I’m trying to do more on this Camino is just be present and enjoy the moment. 💜

And the best news… I’ve reached my fundraising goal for Sands! 🥹💜

A BIG thank you to everyone who donated. I’m so grateful for all your support. ❤️

Now, time to rest!

Day 3

Day 3 💜

Saturday 17th Oct

Day 3 done! 20km and 28,296 steps, from Castro Dozón to A Laxe.

Another lovely day on the Camino! More road walking today and a bit colder, but still enjoying the beautiful landscapes and the chance to disconnect from everyday life.

One thing I’m really enjoying about these days is having so much time to walk, think, or sometimes just switch off completely. No rush, no big plans… just walking and seeing where the day takes us. And honestly, it feels good!

Let’s see what tomorrow brings. 😊

And a BIG thank you to everyone who has donated so far to my Sands fundraiser. 💜 Every donation and every bit of support means so much to me. ❤️

Day 2 💜 The Camino Sanabrés

Friday 16th Oct

Day 2 done! Seia to Castro Dozón. 23 km, 5 hours walking and 32,000 steps! 😅

I’m honestly loving this Camino. The landscapes in Galicia are incredible, and there is something so good about being surrounded by nature, disconnecting from everyday life and just enjoying the peace and quiet. It feels really therapeutic. My legs are definitely starting to feel the tiredness, though! 😂

Today I found myself thinking about expectations and reality. Sometimes we imagine how things will be, how life will unfold, and what our journey will look like. But life doesn’t always go according to plan, and sometimes the reality is very different from what we had imagined. Learning to accept that isn’t always easy.

I think the same applies to this Camino. When I decided to do it, I thought, “Yes, let’s go!” But walking day after day, feeling the tiredness and facing the climbs is a little different from what you imagine before you start.

Maybe that’s part of the journey, both in life and on the Camino. Learning to accept that things won’t always be as we expected, and finding a way to keep going, one step at a time.

Day 2 done. Two tired legs, a lot to think about, and so much beauty along the way. 💜

Day 1 💜 What a start!

Thursday 15th Oct

Today was amazing! We were picked up at 6:30am and drove to Ourense to start our first walk. Honestly, this Camino is so beautiful! 😍

It was a bit challenging for me, especially with some of the climbs. My heart rate definitely felt it 😂 but we did it! And I’m so happy we did.

I feel very lucky to be sharing this journey with my amazing husband, David, and my friends. It makes such a difference having people around you who encourage you, motivate you and keep you going when things get a little tough.

And a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has donated so far! 🥹💜 It really means so much to me. Knowing that people are supporting this journey and such an important cause makes every step even more special.

I’m doing this for Sands and all the families affected by baby loss. If this journey can help raise a little more awareness and support, then every step is worth it.

One day done, and lots more steps to go! 💜

My Rainbow Walk for Sands 💜

Wednesday 14th Oct

Welcome to my fundraising page, and thank you for taking the time to visit.

I'm taking part in the Sands Rainbow Walk to raise money and awareness for Sands, a charity that provides vital support to families affected by pregnancy loss, stillbirth, and neonatal death.

Baby loss touches far more families than many people realise. Behind every statistic is a family whose life has been changed forever. Through this challenge, I hope to not only raise funds for Sands but also help raise awareness of the support they provide during some of life's most difficult moments.

This cause is very close to my heart, and I know how important it is that families have access to understanding, guidance, and support when they need it most.

To support this incredible charity, I'll be walking five stages of the Camino Sanabrés, part of the Camino de Santiago. Along the way, I'll be sharing updates, photos, and reflections from the journey here on my blog.

Whether you've donated, shared my page, or simply stopped by to read this post, thank you. Every bit of support helps Sands continue their important work and means a great deal to me.
