I’m running 2k a day in Febuary for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this February for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Monday 2nd Mar

Wow, this month has just flown by.

I've completed all of my runs. in fact, I've absolutely smashed it. In running activities, I've clocked 160km in February. That's nearly 6km a day.

I've wrapped everything up with a 10k race yesterday, coming in at 1hr 44 secs. not terribly fast but on the back of all the running in March a great success. :)

It's been a rewarding and humbling journey.

Day 3!

Tuesday 3rd Feb

Yoinks, I didn't realise that linking my Garmin with the Sands website will log all my activities. So this isn't quite a true picture.

HOWEVER! Today is Day 3 and I've ran every day so far. It's quite interesting to fit a run into a packed day so I jogged my toddler to nursery this morning. Boy, I sure hate pram running but needs must. on the bright side, i got another 3km in...

Sunday 1st Feb

Hello there!

My partner and I decided to run 2k every day in February to support Sands. Today was Day1 and my first run didn't go too badly.

I'm still looking for good 2k routes in my area that aren't just going up and down a main road.

Today I ran just over 3k. The loop would have finished at 2.8k but who can resist a cheeky extra round around the houses to get to that next k? :)
