2026 Ribbon Run Manchester

I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run in Manchester which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week on Saturday 10 October 2026. I am taking part for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

10km Ribbon Run

Sunday 9th Aug

I’ll be running for two very special little boys who will forever be part of my heart — Matthew and Charlie.

I lost my beautiful boys, and there are no words that can truly explain what it is like to lose your babies.

Matthew lived for just two hours.
Charlie lived for four days.

Two precious lives that were far too short, but two lives that changed me forever.

Although the miles I’ll run are only 10 kilometres, for me this run represents so much more. It’s for the memories, the love, the heartbreak and the boys I wish I could have watched grow up. It’s a way of saying their names, remembering them and making sure they are never forgotten.

I’m running for Matthew and Charlie. 💙💙

Sands is there for families affected by pregnancy and baby loss, providing support and a safe, understanding community

Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps Sands continue this vital work.

For example:

  • £10 could provide three families with a Sands birth certificate for a baby whose birth cannot be registered through a register office.
  • £25 could provide a bereaved family with a Sands Memory Box, helping parents create and keep precious memories of their baby.
  • £36.02 could help answer a call from someone reaching out for support after pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.
  • £98.37 could help ensure every hospital in the UK has access to a dedicated Sands volunteer who can help healthcare professionals access training, guidance and support.

If you can donate, I would be incredibly grateful. Every pound raised will help Sands support families who are going through the pain of losing a baby, while also helping their work to improve care and save babies' lives.

Thank you for helping me turn some of my heartbreak into something that can help other families.
