Run 2k a Day in January 2026

I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss

Losing our son, Alfie Heslop, to stillbirth changed our lives forever. The pain of becoming parents without our baby in our arms is something no family should ever have to face.

During our darkest moments, this charity was there for us. They offered compassion, understanding, and support when we felt completely lost. They helped us feel less alone, acknowledged Alfie as our son, and reminded us that our grief — and our love for him — truly matters.

This charity gave us comfort when we needed it most, and because of that, it means the world to us.

By fundraising, we hope to give other families the same care, understanding, and support that helped us through our heartbreak. No parent should have to walk this journey alone.

Thank you for helping us honour Alfie’s memory and support families when they need it most.

With love,

Alfie’s parents 💙

My Updates

Day 9

Friday 9th Jan
Today was a walking day and omg my legs needed the rest. I decided to talk my little one with me in his pram. We had a lovely 2k walk uphill while I pushed him in in pram and regretted my decision to take him 🤣 but he kept me going and kept my mind off how much my legs hurt 😊 my watch did however have a meltdown and it paused my walk before I finished 😫😫 I have added the remaining 1k and the time it took on to keep things right.

Day 8

Thursday 8th Jan
Today was a coach to 5K. My legs were hurting all day from Bootcamp last night but that didn’t stop me from getting out and doing my run.

Day 7

Wednesday 7th Jan
Today was brutal, up a steep hill to start with 😫, down hill (nice and easy 😊) then uphill 😫 and to finish a nice down hill 😍

Day 6

Tuesday 6th Jan
Im back to my uphill walk to rest my legs.

Day 5

Tuesday 6th Jan
Started to do the couch to 5K so I can work on increasing my distance.

Day 4

Tuesday 6th Jan
Day 4 was a 2K run

Day 3

Tuesday 6th Jan
Forgot to upload them here so I will get caught up on uploading them. Day 3 was a uphill walk to rest my legs.

2nd January run

Saturday 3rd Jan
Second run of the month and my legs felt heavy. I did walk 3 times which I expected due to me not being a runner and then doing 2 days in a row without properly stretching before or after 🫣 tomorrow is a new day so will make sure I stretch before and after.

1/1/2025

Thursday 1st Jan
First run of the month done. Not fast but I ran it all without walking which is a massive achievement for me. There where times I wanted to walk but I thought of my little Alfie, Bumblebee, Bean and Angel and they kept me going.
