We are taking part in the Sands Ribbon Run
Thursday 3rd SepOn the 16th August at 39 weeks, we lost of our beautiful baby girl Elodie. We were invited to the Willow bereavement suite on the 17th, a private room overlooking Brighton's coastline at the Royal Sussex Hospital, to birth her on the 18th August.
The staff were incredible, the room was warm and welcoming and equipped with books and information to support us through this devastating time. Whilst it was heartbreaking and emotional to receive the memory box with toys, blanket, poems, etc as well as ways to make foot and handprints, we were grateful to have this to guide and allow us to make memories we might not have otherwise thought of.
To say thank you, and to allow family and friends to join us physically or virtually to remember little Loddie, we've decided to take part in Sands Ribbon Run which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
On Saturday 10th October we will run along Brighton & Hove seafront at 12pm. You can come to Brighton to run with us or take part virtually, running or walking wherever you are and however far you would like, at the same time or anytime during Baby Loss Awareness Week to support us. Join our team on the link below:

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.
£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.
£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.
