I’m taking on the Sands Blanket Challenge 💜
I’ve committed to making a blanket that will go towards a Sands Memory Box.
As I’ve never knitted before, I’ve also thought about crocheting the blanket - we’ll see how it goes. I may have to undo the whole thing and start again with the other method.
Again, depending on how it goes, I’d like to do this as an ongoing thing and contribute blankets regularly to try and complete as many Memory Boxes as possible for families experiencing such tremendous loss.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby.
