why im taking on 50k for sands
Monday 17th Aug
Running 50K is a huge challenge for me. There will be days when my legs are tired, my body is aching and I’ll wonder why I ever decided to do it! But every difficult step will have a purpose.
I’m taking part because i have family members and friends who have suffered, and theres lots of familys who have had dreams, hopes and plans for their baby, only to have their world turned upside down by the unimaginable loss of their child.
I know that running 50K won’t change what these families have been through, but I hope that by taking on this challenge I can help raise awareness and money to support the incredible work SANDS does.
There will be moments during running when I feel like stopping. When it hurts, when I’m exhausted and when 50K feels impossible. But I’ll remind myself of why I started.
Every mile will be for the babies who should be here.
Every step will be for the families who carry their loss every single day.
And every donation, no matter how big or small, could help SANDS continue to be there for someone when they need support the most.
50K is a long way to run, but it’s nothing compared to the journey some families are forced to face.
So I’m putting my trainers on, pushing myself out of my comfort zone and taking on this challenge with one goal in mind — to raise as much as I can for SANDS.
If you’re able to donate, share my fundraising page or simply cheer me on, I would be incredibly grateful.
Here’s to every tiny life, every grieving family and every step towards making sure nobody has to face baby loss alone. ❤️
