Sands Knitting Challenge

I’m taking on the Sands Knitting Challenge 💜

Hi everyone, and thank you for visiting my page.

This year, I’ve taken on a very special project: I’m knitting a blanket to raise funds for SANDS (Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Society) — a charity that is incredibly close to my heart.

In 2011, my son Charlie was stillborn. It’s an experience that changed my life forever. The grief that follows the loss of a baby is indescribable — it stays with you, shapes you and becomes a part of who you are. Through those darkest moments, the compassion, understanding and support offered by organisations like SANDS can make a real difference.

SANDS provides vital resources for bereaved families, supports hospitals and healthcare professionals and funds life‑saving research to reduce the number of babies who die during pregnancy or shortly after birth. Their work means that no family has to navigate this heartbreak alone, and that’s why supporting them matters so deeply to me.

Knitting this blanket is my way of honouring Charlie’s memory and helping SANDS continue their important work. Every stitch carries love, hope, and remembrance — not just for him, but for all babies gone too soon.

If you’re able to donate, no matter the amount, it will mean the world — to me, to my family and to the many families SANDS supports every day.

Thank you for reading, and thank you for helping me keep Charlie’s memory alive.
