Why I’m running 🌈❤️
Monday 7th SepLast night I ironed the school uniform I never imagined I’d buy.
Today I took the “first day of school” photo that feels completely surreal.
After all the years when we never really dared to believe it would happen, after all the losses… here we are, standing at the milestones that exist at the end of the rainbow.
The gratitude I feel to be here is insurmountable. And I’m so acutely aware that we are one of the lucky ones to be in this position.
So this September, I’m taking part in the Sands 50km Challenge —running 50km throughout the month to raise money and awareness for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. Sands supports families after the devastation of losing a baby, while also working to improve care and fund research to prevent these losses from happening.
I asked Elliot if he wanted to sponsor me, and he gave me £1 from his money tin. 🥺
So, if anyone would like to match his four-year-old generosity of spirit, I’d be eternally grateful. ❤️
