Miscarriage is something we still don’t talk about enough.

Some of you know I’ve had two miscarriages, and I also know many friends who have experienced the same. It’s far more common than people realise, yet still so often surrounded by silence.

People say “you’ll get another chance” or “it wasn’t meant to be”, but miscarriage is so much more than that. It leaves invisible scars and affects you physically, mentally and emotionally. The hopes you had for your baby are gone in an instant.

This September, I’m running 50km in memory of all the babies no longer here, and for every family affected by baby loss. My children have decided to join me too - my daughter is running 30km, and my son is running 20km. Together, they are hoping to achieve 50km!

Sands supports anyone affected by miscarriage and baby loss, ensuring no one has to face their grief alone. They also campaign and educate to help reduce the risk miscarriage and baby loss. If you’re able to donate, any amount would mean so much and will help them continue their vital work.
