We lost Benjamin in December 2025. With his loss came the loss of so many hopes and dreams for the future we had imagined together. We lost the chance to see his first smile, watch him take his first steps, hear his first words, and witness the person he would become.

The days around his death was a time of confusion and emotional turmoil.

Through it all, the bereavement midwives and staff at Frimley Park Hospital cared for us with extraordinary compassion. They gently guided us through some of the darkest moments of our lives, helping us navigate decisions that no parent should ever have to face.

Sands exists to support families experiencing the devastation of pregnancy loss and the death of a baby. Through bereavement support, resources, research and advocacy, they help ensure that grieving families do not have to face their loss alone.

They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that fewer families experience the tragedy of losing their baby.
