I’m running 100 km in May for families facing baby loss

I'm running 100km in May for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a child gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of loss. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

My Updates

Day 1 of May (8/100km)

Friday 1st May
As much as I dislike the treadmill, it is way too hot and roads are too rough where i'm at to be running outside.  However, I had to start off the month with a longish run. 8/100km complete, not the fastest but glad to cross the distance on a rubber belt.

Why I'm raising money for Sands

Friday 24th Apr

I’m taking my lifelong passion for running and putting it to work for a cause that truly matters: Sands. Every day in the UK, 13 families endure the heartbreak of losing a baby, and Sands is the lifeline that ensures no one faces that grief alone. By turning my miles into money, I’m helping fund everything from specialist bereavement suites and memory boxes to vital research and midwife training that aims to reduce stillbirths and save lives.

Running has always been my outlet, but this journey is about much more than a personal best—it’s about remembrance and support. Whether it’s providing a "safe space" through their national helpline or campaigning for better maternity safety, the work Sands does is transformative. Please consider donating to help me support these families; every contribution ensures that even in the darkest times, there is a community there to hold them up.
