April Jogging Challenge

I’ve committed to the April Jogging Challenge for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to the April Jogging Challenge for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

Walking!

Wednesday 22nd Apr
Hi all!

Thought I’d give an update. I’ve been walking a little walk every morning for the last 13 days to work.
A little goes a long long way!
So from 06/04/26 to today I have covered 15km which means I’m half way to my goal!

I am planning on going out with my Uncle this weekend for around a 10-12m hike which should be fun!

I’ll keep you all updated and somehow manage to get Strava working as I’m not good with much like that haha!

Again thankyou all so far for your support xxx

Baby Loss

Thursday 26th Mar
Hey! I’m Lucy. I don’t do running and I don’t do fitness but this felt right for me to do.
To give something back.
Not many people know, but on 15th December 2025 I found out I was pregnant unexpectedly. I was full of mixed emotions but inside I was bursting with happiness as I always wanted to give my beautiful 3 year old son a sibling.
Shortly after, on 20th December, I started bleeding which went away after a couple of days but I had a gut feeling something wasn’t quite right.
With it being Christmas, I didn’t take myself to the hospital until Boxing Day 2025 as I didn’t want to essentially to me what felt like “ruin” Christmas for my son and my partner.
After being at the hospital every other day and around 4 scans later, on the 5th January 2026, they finally found my baby. It was there all along in my left fallopian tube.
I was broken after holding on to so much hope.
I was given a dose of methotrexate to stop the pregnancy and sent home.
Another dose a week later as things wasn’t happening as quickly as it should.

I went back to a somewhat normal life after being told everything was going in the right direction until the 23rd January, where I was rushed into theatres for emergency surgery as my tube eventually ruptured.
I lost nearly 1 litre of blood internally and with the best efforts, my fallopian tube couldn’t be saved so it was removed.

When it comes to an ectopic pregnancy, there’s never a straight forward plan. It’s a waiting game. Living in the unknown day in day out, waiting to see if things are progressing well or if it isn’t - in my case it wasn’t.

I feel like an empty shell and still have my bad days, but I want to turn it into a positive, by giving back and getting my bum off the sofa for a change and making a difference.

Please donate if you can, and if you see me out running, please give me encouragement!

I will update as and when I can

Thankyou for reading.
