I’m running 50k in September for families facing baby loss
I'm running 50k in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that fewer families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
Thank you.

50K in September for Sands – Every Kilometre Has Meaning 💙🧡
Tuesday 1st SepThis September, I’m challenging myself to run 50 kilometres for Sands, the baby loss charity.
As a nurse, caring for people has always been a huge part of who I am. My work has taught me that sometimes there are no perfect words and no way of taking somebody’s pain away — but kindness, empathy, listening and simply being there can mean more than we realise.
Over the years, I’ve had family and known friends whose lives have been affected by baby loss and who have received support from Sands.
I’ve seen how deeply the loss of a baby can affect parents, families and everyone who loves them.
Grief like this doesn’t simply disappear, and nobody should have to navigate it alone.
That is why this challenge means so much more to me than simply clocking up 50K.
Every kilometre I run throughout September will be run with love and compassion for the babies who are so deeply missed, for the parents and families who carry them in their hearts, and for the people close to me whose own experiences have made me understand just how important organisations like Sands are.
As a nurse, I spend so much of my life caring for others. This September, I want to put that caring nature into every step I take and hopefully raise some money and awareness along the way to help enable Sands to fund vital research and build the networks researchers need, placing bereaved parents at the centre of this work.

Note to self! Don’t give up - this charity is counting on you and others to donate and make a difference! 🤍
