I’m running 50k in May for families facing baby loss

I'm running 50k in May for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

For our boy - Mckenzie George Tyler Mead-Sellen 💙

Wednesday 29th Apr

Hello - I hope you are well.

I am doing 50K in May for Sands charity. My target is 50K, but im aiming to at least DOUBLE this.

Sands works to support anyone affected by the death of a baby; improve the care bereaved parents receive; and create a world where fewer babies sadly dont make it into this world.

My reason for choosing this charity, is because they have very little funding compared to other charities, but yet they are a well known charity and they do such an amazing job.

My partner and I, have recently became bereaved parents. On March the 29th, Chloe was 32 weeks pregnant with our little boy, who we have named Mckenzie George Tyler Mead-Sellen. Sadly, Chloe experienced severe pains and symptoms of haemorrhaging. I carried her to the car and put my foot down and got her to Maternity Triage so quickly.

Within 15 minutes of getting Chloe into Maternity Triage, the doctors decided to get her into theatre and have our little boy delivered. This was due to, our boy having no heartbeat, Chloe's temperature had gone critically low, Chloe turned blue and grey, and was unresponsive. This is where Chloe went dramatically down hill. She lost 3 out of 5 litres of blood, her heart rate wasnt stable, her blood pressure wasn't stable, all the veins in her body had collapsed, all her organs apart from her heart and brain had failed and wasnt working, only a breathing machine was keeping her alive.

At 11:55am, Sunday 29th March 2026, weighing 3lb 5oz, our perfect little man was brought into this world, unfortunately, not the way we wanted and expected. He was stillborn. The doctors worked hard on him for 35 minutes but unfortunately he was too perfect for this world.

Chloe remaind critical and on a breathing machine overnight. She didn’t even know until she woke up 24 hours later, that our boy was born, and the devastating outcome. The doctors said that Chloe only just made it, she only had 20% chance of survival, she was on of the closest they have had to not making it. We remained in hospital for 10 days, with our perfect little man in a cool cot by our side every second, of every day, cherishing the moments we could with him.

So im doing this 50K challenge in May, in memory of Mckenzie George Tyler Mead-Sellen, our boy! Also, to raise money for such a supportive charity. I hope you can help me reach my target, even a just few pounds with mean the world.

Thank you for your time,
We wish you all the best.
