I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

🍒🤍 5K for Baby Cherry 🤍🍒

This October, I’ll be running/walking 5K in memory of our Baby Cherry, and for every little baby who is loved beyond words but sadly couldn’t stay.

On 30th July, our world changed when what should have been one of the happiest chapters of our lives became one of the hardest. I experienced an ectopic pregnancy, where a pregnancy develops outside of the womb and sadly cannot continue. We had to say goodbye to Baby Cherry far sooner than we ever imagined.

Although we never got the chance to hold our baby in our arms, Baby Cherry will always be part of our family, our story and our hearts. 

I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run, which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9–15 October), for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensures that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and fewer families experience the tragedy of losing their baby.

This 5K is for Baby Cherry, but it’s also for every parent who has had to leave a hospital without their baby, every family learning how to carry a love with nowhere physical to go, and every little life that will never be forgotten. 

Anything you are able to donate means more than you know. No amount is too small, and every donation can make a difference:

£20 could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access training, guidance and support.

I’ll be carrying Baby Cherry with me through every single step.
