I’m taking on the Sands Knitting Challenge 💜
I’ve committed to knitting a blanket for a very loved and much missed baby.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Monday 19th Jan I’ve been knitting baby blankets for stillborn babies for 13 years, but I had never considered doing it to raise funds before. Most fundraisers are physical challenges well outside what I can achieve but when this challenge appeared I felt it was something that I could give a try.When our daughter Alys was stillborn I was left with a fierce sense that I didn’t want anyone else to experience what we had been through, that with more research and staff training we could significantly reduce the amount of babies that are born sleeping. This is what Sands does as well as supporting families who have had their worlds turned upside down by loosing their longed for child.
So if you could spare even just 50p I would be so blessed by the support of my little venture!
