April Jogging Challenge

I’ve committed to the April 30km Challenge for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to the April 30km Challenge for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

My Updates

Day 19

Sunday 19th Apr
Well I don’t know where the last two weeks has gone sine I last updated this. It’s day 19 and I super chuffed with myself to sticking to my schedule of walking 1km a day on my walking pad so this is always on top of my daily activities. I spend that time while doing “my Lucy walking” to spend time thinking of her and processing my grief and emotions I’ve been unable to face for nearly 27 years. Today my daughter sponsored me, this is a super special donation as she’s my rainbow baby, my live baby after loss, after waiting and hoping and trying and praying for 11 years.

Day 5

Sunday 5th Apr
Still on track, 1km a day. I’m committed to not letting myself fall behind.

Day 3

Friday 3rd Apr
1km another day complete. Finding the time I’m spending on the walking pad a very calm peaceful place to remember my first baby.

Day 2

Thursday 2nd Apr
Job done, had to split the walk but still completed the km.

Day 1

Wednesday 1st Apr
So chuffed with myself. First km of walking done. T shirt arrived in the post today. I’ll wear it tomorrow.

Lucy

Saturday 21st Mar
Raising money for an important charity that’s close to my heart.  Baby loss affects the entire family. Everyone who experiences this kind of devastation needs and deserves support.
Please support me if you can. I’m disabled so will be walking this challenge and breaking it down into manageable chunks with plenty of rest breaks.
But no matter how long it takes I will be walking in memory of all the babies that were too precious for Earth including my daughter Lucy who was born sleeping 26th April 1999.
