2026 Walk 100k in September

I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

My Story

Monday 17th Aug
I had a private scan at 11 weeks after feeling not quite right and after 5 healthy pregnancies I never expected for there to be any problem and that it was just me being paranoid.   I remember them saying im sorry but there's no heartbeat and I dont remember much after that.
I went to my local hospital the day after for a scan to be told I was having a missed miscarriage, given a leaflet and told it hapoens all the time and feeling like I was just a statistic and didnt have a right to be upset.
I left and waited 2 weeks for another scan sure that id be told they had made a mistake and the scan had been too early or my dates were wrong and Google had lots of stories to back me up.
Unfortunately the situation was the same when I went back however I did get a kind scanner who explained things to me and made sure I was ok before I left with the necessary medication to do what my body wouldn't do by itself.  I went to my parents to take the medication and nothing happened over the weekend so I had to go back for round two of medication to end the pregnancy, this time I did it at home.
This round worked but unfortunately the bleeding was too heavy and woykdnt stop so I was taken into the hospital, the maternity ward for a procedure. Afterwards I was advised to stay the night but couldnt as I could hear babies crying.
If you made it to the end of my story thanks so much for reading and never ever feel like you are not entitled to grieve or be upset about a life you had imagined and planned no matter what stage it was taken away from you.
