I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this January for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

62km Done... and Apparently Gravity Wanted a Say

Tuesday 20th Jan
Yesterday, I officially completed the 'Run 62km in January' challenge for SANDS. The universe has an impeccable sense of timing, I celebrated by falling over. Not dramatically. Not heroically. Just a very undignified whoops-there goes-my-feet moment mid-run. My muddy legs and trainers can confirm that only my ego was injured. A little reminder that progress doesn't always look graceful, The challenge isn't over, I still have the £ target to reach, and there are 10 days left in January to see how many additional kms I can clock up. Rocket has taken his role as charity ambassador and chief motivator seriously, and accompanied me on most of my runs. This challenge is of course more than kms. It has been about showing up consistently for the ANT team, doing something tangible, and holding space for a cause that matters deeply to people I care about.

Tuesday 6th Jan
Turning cold days into warm fuzzy feelings to demonstrate support for SANDS, raising awareness and funds for a charity that provides crucial support to families affected by baby loss. The support and motivation are making all the difference, particularly in sub-zero conditions that my circulation would strongly prefer to avoid.
