2026 Run 50k in September

I’m running 50k in September for families facing baby loss

During September myself and Ema will be running 50k in awareness of baby loss, this particular challenge is to show our love and support towards Kit, our friends beautiful baby who was born sleeping on the 7th June.

Emma has shared a bit about her story below:

‘Kit was our beautiful little boy who was so incredibly loved from the moment we knew he existed. We had so many hopes for the life we imagined we’d have with him and his big sister, Lydia. During our 20-week scan, a pregnancy that had initially been textbook became incredibly complicated, and after lots of testing and a couple of very anxious weeks, we were diagnosed with severe early-onset placental insufficiency. Unfortunately, Kit’s condition continued to worsen and his blood flow became increasingly compromised. Despite all the monitoring and care we received, he couldn’t get the oxygen and nutrients he needed to survive, and we lost him at 26 weeks.

There are no words that can explain what it is like to give birth to your baby and leave the hospital with a memory box. Losing a child is an unimaginable, endless grief that I wish no-one had to endure. Kit will always be our son. He was here, he was and is so loved, and he deserves to be remembered.

It means more than I can say that Jo and Ema are doing this in Kit’s name. His time with us was so fleeting that anything that helps keep his memory alive is the biggest gift of all. And knowing that they are doing this to support a charity that helps bereaved families feel less alone during such an unthinkable time makes it even more meaningful.’

We want to do this in memory of Kit but also for other parents, friends, family and myself who have experienced the heartbreaking pain of pregnancy, baby and infant loss. If you would like to donate then any donations are welcome, or if you’d even like to join us for a run in Kit’s name, then please come along.
