I’m running 50k in May for families facing baby loss

I'm running 50k in May for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

I’m hopeless at posting these, but I really wanted to say thank you. To everyone who has stood by us through our loss and got behind this fundraiser — your kindness has carried us further than you know.

I’m so proud to say I’ve now completed the 50k for Sands. Founded back in 1978 by bereaved parents, Sands is there for families in the rawest moments after losing a baby, and it also funds research to understand why these losses happen and how to prevent them. Crossing that finish line, with all of you behind me, meant the world.

But I’m not stopping there. Next month I’ll be taking on 60 miles for Tommy’s — the UK’s largest funder of research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, working tirelessly to find the answers so many of us are never given. The two charities share the same hope: a world where fewer families have to go through what we have.
