I’m running 50k in May for families facing baby loss
I was inspired to start running after this years London marathon and all of the amazing stories and people that challenged themselves whilst supporting a good cause. I will be starting my running journey whilst raising money for Sands which will motivate me to stick with it and support a charity very close to my heart. I'm running 50k in May for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Unfortunately in the 90’s when my family experienced three baby losses, charities like Sands were harder to access and the absence of that support felt stark and lonely for my mum and I. I am supporting Sands in the hope that other families do not have this same experience.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
Thank you, Holly 🙏💕

Hi Holly Go for it a very good cause and we have been in the same situation. The first London Marathon in1981 inspired me and having never been a runner managed to compete in 1982.

I wish you well in your 5K challenge. Sadly my own daughter lost a baby at 20 weeks pregnant, it was a sad time for the whole family. However they were blessed with a healthy baby girl in March 2025. SANDS remains close to our hearts and all those who have lost babies..💗💙

The pain is always worth the gain. Normally a few minutes after you finish the runs.
