I’m running 50k in September for families facing baby loss
I’ve committed to running 50k in September in memory of my beautiful daughter Mielah-Rose.
Unfortunately in 2016, she contracted the herpes virus through the form of a cold saw, contracted at a belated baby shower.
Some infants with this type of neonatal herpes can die, even after they have been treated.
If widespread herpes is not treated immediately, there's a chance the baby will die and around 1 in 2 babies that do survive are left with a permanent disability or complication.
Unfortunately, Mielah had four heart attacks, and I made the decision to turn her life support machine off to save anymore suffering.
