50k in September in memory of Ada Sofia ✨️
Hi everyone! For those who don't know me, my names Harley and I'm a mum of two wonderful children.
This September, I am taking on the challenge of running (or more than likely walking in my case!) 50k in support of Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. While 50k is a significant physical test, every mile I run pales in comparison to the love and purpose behind this challenge. I am running in precious memory of my best friend’s baby daughter, Ada Sofia, who was born sleeping at 17 weeks gestation.
Ada Sofia may have spent a short time in this world, but the love her parents and all of us have for her will last a lifetime. Watching someone you love navigate the devastating pain of baby loss is heart-wrenching, and running this challenge is my way of wrapping my arms around my friend, honoring Ada Sofia’s sweet memory, and ensuring she is never forgotten.
By raising funds for Sands, I hope to support the incredible work they do—providing vital bereavement care for grieving families, offering support through the darkest days, and funding research to save babies' lives. Thank you so much for following my journey, keeping Ada Sofia in your hearts, and supporting a cause that means so much to us.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that fewer families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
Thank you so much, Harls x
