I’m running 50k in May for families facing baby loss

I'm running 50k in May for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Our story

This May, I’m taking on the run 50k in may to raise money for Sands, a charity that means a lot to me and my partner.

We’ve been together for nearly six years, and throughout that time we’ve been trying to start a family. It’s been a journey filled with hope, heartbreak, and resilience. My partner has sadly experienced nine miscarriages, something that has deeply affected both of us. It’s a pain that never really leaves, and one that many people don’t fully see or understand.

Alongside the emotional toll, we’ve also felt a lack of support at times from the healthcare system, which has made the journey even more difficult. That’s why charities like Sands are so important—they provide support, understanding, and a voice for families going through baby loss.

This run isn’t just about the total distance. It’s about remembering, raising awareness, and supporting others who are going through similar experiences. Every step I take is for the babies we never got to meet, and for families who need support during their darkest times.
