I'm running 50k in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that fewer families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

50k for Sands
Monday 31st AugIn April this year, at 16 weeks pregnant, I found out that my baby no longer had a heartbeat. I was admitted to hospital, went through labour and then had to leave without my baby. It was, without a doubt, the most traumatic experience I have ever been through.
Since losing my baby, I’ve learned just how many families are affected by pregnancy and baby loss, and how isolating and heartbreaking that experience can be. No one should have to feel alone in their grief or feel that their baby’s life and their loss don’t matter.
Last month, I found out I was pregnant again. Sadly, this pregnancy also ended in miscarriage at just five weeks. I am so blessed to already have two beautiful boys and although I’m still waiting for my rainbow baby, I wanted to turn some of my heartbreak into something positive.
So, throughout September, I’ll be running 50k to raise money for Sands — a charity that supports anyone affected by pregnancy or baby loss.
This charity is doing such important work for families going through something no parent should ever have to experience. I’m running these 50K in memory of my baby, and for every family who has had to leave hospital without the baby they were expecting to bring home.
