I’m running 50k in May for families facing baby loss
My friends will tell you that I’m a pretty useless runner. I think the extent of my prowess was running the mile at school once (because Bec made me) and then doing a 5k dressed as Santa. Other than that it’s just running for the bus when I’m late (which is quite often).
But I’ve decided to get on my trainers and run 50k in May in aid of Sands, as it’s a cause close to my heart.
Baby Loss.
When you don’t get to bring home the little one you expected to - a baby you already loved, planned what their life might look like, and imagined a future full of memories with, then it can be utterly heartbreaking and bewildering.
So anyone that can help and support you navigate the weeks, months and years after baby loss is so important. When we lost our baby Remi six years ago, we were fortunate to be supported with counselling for free by a fantastic charity. I’d love to be able to pay that forward and raise money for Sands to help others.
So anything you can spare for this wonderful charity will be amazing.. and every penny will spur me on to reach my goal.
About Sands:
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
Thank you.
