I’m running 50k in September for families facing baby loss
I'm running 50k in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that fewer families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
Thank you.

Why I’m Running 50K for SANDS
Wednesday 5th AugWhy I’m Running 50K for SANDS..
In October 2025, my life changed in a way I never expected.
I was rushed to hospital with a suspected ectopic pregnancy. Everything happened so quickly. I underwent emergency keyhole surgery, but the pregnancy couldn’t be found. Despite this, my pregnancy tests continued to show I was still pregnant.
After five more scans, doctors discovered something incredibly rare – the pregnancy had implanted into my previous caesarean section scar.
I was prepared for emergency surgery once again. While waiting, my body miscarried naturally. Although this meant I didn’t need the operation, it didn’t make the loss any less heartbreaking. It was one of the scariest and most emotional experiences I’ve ever been through.
Pregnancy loss can be incredibly isolating. It’s something that many people don’t talk about, yet so many families experience.
I’m running 50K for SANDS to remember my baby, to help raise awareness of pregnancy loss, and to support the amazing work SANDS does for families during some of the darkest moments of their lives.
Although I didn’t access support myself, I know how important it is that charities like SANDS are there for families navigating pregnancy loss. If this challenge helps another family feel less alone, every mile will be worth it.
Every mile I run is for those who have experienced loss and for the families who need support when they need it most.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. Your donations will help SANDS continue providing comfort, guidance and hope to bereaved families.
