2026 Walk 100k in September

Walking 100k for our son, Ozzy 💙

In September, I will be taking part in the Sands Walk 100k.

It is something deeply personal, and something I am doing in memory of our beautiful son, Ozzy.

This is the first time many of you will be hearing about Ozzy. We chose to keep his life and our grief very private while we tried to navigate something no parent should ever have to go through.

Ozzy was born on the 29th April. He was our beautiful little boy, Delilah’s baby brother and the newest part of our family. He was a happy, healthy baby, and we were completely in love with him.

Delilah absolutely adored her baby brother. She loved helping with his nappy changes and being involved with looking after him. Watching her become a big sister was incredibly special, and seeing the love she had for Ozzy is something we will treasure forever.

On the 12th May, just 13 days after he was born, we lost our beautiful Ozzy.

There are no words that can truly explain what it feels like to lose your baby, especially when they had been happy and healthy. Our world changed, and we have had to learn how to live with a grief that will stay with us for the rest of our lives.

Ozzy’s life may have been short, but he made such a huge impact on our family. He is our son, Delilah’s little brother and will always be a part of our family. We wish more than anything that he could be here growing up alongside his sister, but we feel incredibly lucky that we got to know and love him.

For the last few months, we have kept Ozzy’s story very private. But we also don’t want his life to be something that is only spoken about behind closed doors. He was here, he was loved, and he will always be our son. We want people to know about him, remember him and understand just how much he means to our family.

That is why I have decided to take part in the Sands 2026 Walk 100k in September.

I will walk 100 kilometres in September in memory of Ozzy, and every step will be for him. It will be a physical and emotional challenge, but being able to do something in his memory means so much to us.

We are raising money for Sands, an organisation that supports families who have experienced the death of a baby or child. Their work helps bereaved families through some of the darkest moments of their lives and ensures that people experiencing this kind of loss have somewhere to turn.

If you are able to donate, we would be incredibly grateful. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Sands continue the amazing work they do.

If you aren’t in a position to donate, please don’t feel that you have to. Sharing our fundraising page with your friends, family or on social media would mean just as much to us and would help us reach more people.

Thank you for taking the time to read about our beautiful boy and for allowing us to introduce Ozzy to those who didn’t know about him. It means so much to us to finally share his story and to keep his memory alive.

Ozzy will always be our son, always be loved and always be a part of our family. 💙💙

To Emma and Dan, What a wonderful way to give back to such a worthy cause. We would have loved to have met Ozzy, but it wasn't to be, but he will be remembered forever and each time you look to the sky you will see that extra twinkle as he smiles down on his wonderful family.
