The Journey to our Rainbow baby
Friday 21st AugI am taking on the Sands 50k in September where I am going to challenge myself to run 50k throughout the month of September I am doing this for the Sands charity.
Sands is a UK charity that supports people and families affected by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby. The name originally stood for Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society. It was founded in 1978 by bereaved parents.
They support families affected by things including:
* Miscarriage
* Stillbirth
* Neonatal death (a baby dying within the first 28 days after birth)
* Pregnancy ending for medical reasons
* Sudden unexpected infant death
This holds a special place in my heart because, some people will know that me and my beautiful girlfriend Roisin found out on the 25th October 2025 that we were expecting our first baby together that was a feeling of absolute joy and love. We were going to start our own little family and Roman was going to be a big brother which I was so nervous for but also really excited 🤍. On the 22nd of December we went for what would have been our 12 week scan. Sadly we were told our little baby didn’t have a heartbeat💔.
Roisin suffered a missed miscarriage with no signs and a feeling we will never forget💔
That was the toughest day of my life not knowing what to say or do to comfort Roisin in this situation.
Fast forward to 3rd March 2026 we found out that Roisin was pregnant again and after numerous scans and check ups our baby girl is due November 2026. What was the worst few months of our lives we are so grateful and excited for the arrival of our baby girl and for Roman to be the best big brother 🤍.
By doing this I hope I can raise money to donate to charity which help people through there hardest times in there life and let them know that there is a Rainbow 🌈 at the end of it 🤍
