I’m taking on the Sands Knitting Challenge 💜

I’ve committed to knitting a blanket for a very loved and much missed baby.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

I have news today that I have finally completed my Knitting Challenge! 

Thank you for all being patient with me. It has turned out really nice. I shall be posting it off to SANDs next week along with the completion form. 

Anyone can knit or crochet these blankets for the SANDs Charity, the patterns are available on their web page. You do not have to collect donations.  I will certainly be making more, maybe a crochet one next. I know my lovely friend Sandra has just completed a beautiful crocheted one which is also ready to send off!

I would just like to thank you all once again for your donations and standing by me while I finished the challenge.

Let us hope that the money donated and the blankets, will help bring comfort to all who have dealt with miscarriages or the loss of a baby. Our thoughts are will you all xxx

Getting the border done!

Sorry for not posting for a while, I have been busy with other knitting and crochet projects. I have started the border for the pretty little blanket and all is going well... just got to keep going until Iit fits all the way around!!

After travelling this weekend, I am catching up with the rows… I’m now on the decrease! Keep your fingers crossed. 🤞🏻 Still loving the challenge and the relaxing click of those knitting needles. Thank you SO MUCH for everyone that has donated so far. I also have £45 in cash to add to my donations, from kind people who have seen what I am up to!! 🤭🥰👏🏻xxx

I never waste a chance to be knitting or crocheting! Travelling in the car on a trip somewhere. 😉 Here is my work in progress from about a week ago! So happy when I’m knitting… even more so when it’s for a cause such as SANDS! 💚xxx

Good morning,

I have decided to take on the SANDS Knitting Challenge! It will be very exciting to see the wool and the pattern when they arrive in the post. So, here I am waiting to start!! 

This Charity is very very important in supporting those affected by baby loss. It is sometimes a very isolating and lonely experience for all parties involved in varying ways.

SANDS provides a safe space for anyone that is affected by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby ... this can be parents, siblings, grandparents, the wider family and also close friends.

This charity is very close to my heart, it has affected both of my daughters and their husbands. So, by doing the challenge, I feel I can help others with a comforting blanket to help them through the tough days. 

I would really appreciate any support that you can offer. This charity needs to be brought to the forefront to show it's strengths of support to it offers to those affected... which is sometimes lots more people than we realise.

I shall hope to keep you updated on my progress as I continue this journey.
