I’m running 2k a day in January for families facing baby loss

Before Christmas I was asked by a friend if I wanted to complete this challenge. The reason was two fold. Firstly to try and kick start us back into some kind of fitness. But secondly to raise money for this fantastic charity again.  Just over two years ago Emily, myself and Sue raised money for SANDS by walking up Snowden whilst I was pregnant with Myla which was a breathless challenge in itself. This time Emily and I have committed to running a minimum of 2k a day this January. Whilst is doesn’t seem far; for all of you that know us running isn’t our preferred choice of fitness. But come rain, shine or even snow we show up every day. Whether it’s at 6am before work or 8pm after bedtime the runs are completed. I am doing this for me and Jonny and for every other much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby.
