My name is Chloe, and I am a mummy to 3 beautiful children, who are 7, 1 and 6 weeks old.

I will be running 50K for all the baby’s that lives ended too soon. For all the family’s that have experienced a pregnancy loss or baby loss. Sands is a charity that offers support for anyone affected by pregnancy loss and baby loss. 

This charity resinates with me, as someone who has had a pregnancy loss and also lost my beautiful niece at 8 weeks old. 

I am however a statistic… 1/4, these are the statistics of known pregnancies ending in a miscarriage. I had a missed miscarriage, an exciting time of seeing your baby on a screen quickly became a destroying experience, seeing no heartbeat. No signs and no warnings. My body changing but baby had stopped growing. 

I will also be running for my beautiful niece Leveah who passed away at only 8 weeks old. A life only just starting, was taken away too soon. 

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer pregnancies end and babies die and so that fewer families experience this tragedy.
