April Jogging Challenge

I’ve committed to the April Jogging Challenge for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to the April Jogging Challenge for every much-loved baby sadly not here today. I'll be jumping on my cross-trainer (nearly) every day, at around Noon, to do a 30 minute session, aiming to hit 10k each time.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

My Updates

Day 30:

Thursday 30th Apr
I completed my 100th kilometre today. I started on my cross trainer, and then walked to a very important destination this evening which holds so much significance in where I am at in life right now, but also where our life is going.

The first 4 months of 2026 have been challenging in so many ways, the 100km was actually the easiest thing to handle.

I am so proud of myself for not quitting and giving up on myself, but also for raising such a huge amount of money for Sands. Thank you to those that have supported me, read into Sands more, and donated to my page. I am so grateful for you, your kindness and your love.

I did this challenge for our baby, Noon. We miss you and love you every single day.

Day 25-29:

Thursday 30th Apr
Theres been even more happening again and ive been taking this time to rest some more.
Ive also been reflecting more on our experience and feeling sad about the loss we went through.
A whole live being created, taken away too soon. A future we had dreamt of, stollen from us. A lifetime of love that can only be felt inside and cant be expressed how we had imagined forever.
Miscarriage and child loss needs to be spoken about and recognised more widely. I am hoping that my involvement in this challenge will bring some light to a supporting charity. I will be supporting more charities like Sands in the future too after this challenge.

Day 24:

Friday 24th Apr
Today I walked into town, out of town, back into town, around town and then back out of town with one of my bestests. We had a proper good catch up, coffee stops, and enjoyed walking in the sun. We also talked a lot about little ones and our Noon, and it truly was a wonderful day.
A big 8.27 miles today - very happy with myself for actually going outside too.

Day 17 -23:

Friday 24th Apr
A lots been going on over the past few days. I knew id be going out and about on 24th april so have been more relaxed on doing cross trainer sessions, judt while so much is happening.
Ill be going on a long walk on 24th April and will update the distance afterwards!

Day 16:

Thursday 16th Apr
The car saga is still going, and there was a fair amount of housework to do today, so i manages a -15 minute session doing 5k, just after Noon.
My body was happy for the steady pace and fresh air from outside.

Day 15:

Thursday 16th Apr
I didn't do a 5k or 10k session today as we had a very unfortunate incident involving my car today... so I used the day to rest.
Ill be back on the challenge tomorrow after Noon.
I am £20 from my fundraising target, and about 25k from 100k total distance!

Day 14:

Tuesday 14th Apr
Managed 10k under 30 mins again on the cross trainer.
Was quite a nice and comfortable session.
Much later than Noon, but still good!

Day 13:

Monday 13th Apr
5k today in 14mins just after Noon (lunch)
Feeling warm and fresh
Ive also increased my fundraising target to £200 as we hit target early!

Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported me in this challenge so far!

Day 12:

Monday 13th Apr
A day of housework, no intentional exercise but will start again tomorrow!

Day 11:

Monday 13th Apr
Spent the day with some family before being home and doing housework, no intentional exercise today!

Day 10:

Monday 13th Apr
We were away for a birthday celebration today, so no major exercising happened!

Day 9:

Thursday 9th Apr
Wasn't able to cross trainer just after Noon, so I opted for the after work session.
In under 30 mins, I managed another 10k. I kept the door open this time, to let the fresh air and day come streaming in, which helped me feel calm during the session. Especially as our Sugar Moon is right by the door, helping me through this challenge.

Day 8:

Wednesday 8th Apr
I managed a 10 minute session today, cross training to 3.68k during lunch this after Noon. I would have done more, but housework was calling, and couldn't be ignored.
A short burst, but not a bad distance in a short period of time.
I have also edited my target distance from 45k to 100k this month, as I had surpassed the target today after only a few days of exercise.

Day 7:

Tuesday 7th Apr
I did another cross trainer session this after Noon (during lunch) and managed 10.10k in 27.41 mins. I am enjoying using the time exercising and remembering the experiences and journey we have been on so far as a family.
I'll be cross training again tomorrow.

Day 6:

Tuesday 7th Apr
We were at a friend's and family gathering and celebration for a baby joining us in the world very soon. Today was about being present, and with some incredible people, celebrating life ahead.
Tomorrow I will be cross training again to support families that have been through and are going through loss.

Day 5:

Sunday 5th Apr
Happy Easter!
We did a family walk around Noon today, and it was so lovely. About 2.5k in total as a leisurely walk. The sun was out, and it was quite mild.
A lovely Easter Sunday.

Day 4:

Saturday 4th Apr
We spend the day doing house renovations and had a movie night for the first time in forever. We will be going for a family walk tomorrow, and if I'm able to move after Easter Dinner, I'll jump on the cross trainer to top up to 10k!

Day 3:

Saturday 4th Apr
Posting a day late because we were celebrating our nieces birthday today!
Managed another 10k in 30 minutes around Noon. Its nice to use the time to focus on my energy, and moving more. It felt good to cross train today.

Day 2:

Thursday 2nd Apr
Managed to get another 10k done during lunch, around Noon (30 mins session). Feeling warm, fresh, and good for the movement.

Day 1:

Wednesday 1st Apr
1st April, 2026

No, this isn't an April Fools joke, I did actually start the challenge today.
I have managed to cross train 10k in a leisurely 30 minute session.
Although I may be able to finish this challenge in just 3 or 4 more sessions, I am going to try and do 30 minutes every day, to help ground myself, be accountable for my actions, improve my health, and remember the journey I have been on, we have been on, and are still going through.

I'm 'jogging' for all the families that have experienced child loss, at any stage of yours or their life.
