I’m running 50k in May for families facing baby loss

I'm running 50k in May for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

When life has other plans for you

I’m raising money for Sands, a charity that has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My brother Sam was born on 8th June 1987 and sadly passed away on 16th August 1987 from cot death. Supporting Sands has always been something my family and I have been deeply committed to.

In the summer of my 40th birthday, Greg and I began IVF — a journey filled with hope, resilience, and heartbreak. Over the following years, we experienced the highest highs of discovering we were pregnant, and the lowest lows of losing four babies to miscarriage, alongside hospital admissions and surgeries.

After the fourth loss, I knew I couldn’t continue on that path. Sadly, our relationship came to an end. Over the past year, I’ve focused on rebuilding myself, and now feel strong enough to turn my experience into something positive.

I want to raise money to support others facing baby loss or struggling to become parents. Talking helped me more than I can express, and Sands provides vital support to families during their darkest times — helping ensure more parents can bring their babies home and watch them grow.
