I’m taking part in the Winter Walk and walking 60km in December for families facing baby loss
I’ve committed to taking on Winter Walk and walking 60km in December for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
After experiencing baby loss under very difficult circumstances in October 2026, I was fortunate to receive exceptional care and support from the NHS, and my husband, family, friends and colleagues. Being surrounded by so much love and kindness has made a world of difference, and I know that not every woman will have this experience.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby.
I continue to recover from the emotional impact of baby loss, and the Winter Walk will provide me a positive focus throughout December, as well as an opportunity to raise funds that will help other women in the future. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
