Our Why- Clay Daniel Wankiewicz 🩵

Clay turned 6 in July. 

Every year since he died, Dan and I have done something in memory of Clay. Sometimes that’s publicly, sometimes it’s privately. But it’s one of the few ways we can parent Clay, but doing something in his memory. 

This year we have decided to challenge ourselves to running 50km (each) throughout September, we will hopefully go above and beyond 50km, but as none runners (and I mean at all in the last 7 years at least!) reaching 50km each is going to be a challenge, but one we want to do together and Clay will be at the forefront of our minds as we run (albeit slowly at first!) throughout September. 

Sands are such an important charity, the work they do to support bereavement parents, alongside training healthcare professionals and researching ways to reduce still birth and neonatal death is incredibly important, so if you could support us by donating (even if it’s a few £) towards a very deserving cause we would be grateful.

We're running 50k in September for families facing baby loss

We're running 50k in September in memory of Clay and every other baby who is sadly no longer here. 

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that fewer families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
