We are fundraising in loving memory of our son Nathan, for Sands, for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
We will be cycling 100k in September, mostly with our rainbow baby (Nathan’s baby brother) in a cargo bike or on a child seat on one of our bikes. We will be raising money for Sands whilst challenging the motonormativity that chokes up our lungs, our cities and our planet. Reclaiming space on a (cargo) bike on streets that prioritise vehicular traffic, and as bereaved parents in a world where baby loss is taboo, is a way to embody and enact a more just, compassionate and sustainable future.

New cycling target!
Sunday 6th Sep We’ve smashed our 100k cycling target in just under a week! It helps that the cargo bike is Theo’s nap-mobile. 🙂😴 We’ve increased our cycling target to 200k — many more family bike rides to look forward to! Share
16k cycled so far and a new fundraising target!
Wednesday 2nd Sep It is September now! We cycled 16k yesterday and are looking forward to clocking up more mileage throughout the month. Flying the flag for active travel and breaking the silence around baby loss at the same time!
One week of fundraising… and a new target!
Saturday 29th Aug It has just been one week of fundraising so far and we are thrilled to have exceeded our target (which we have increased three times over the week)! Our new target is £1500. Thank you everyone for the generosity, support and solidarity. ♥️ Share

Increased fundraising target!
Monday 24th Aug We are so touched by and grateful for the generosity of and support from family and friends — within 24 hours of creating this page, we already achieved two-thirds of our fundraising target! We have increased our target from £300 to £450. Any more that we can raise for Sands would be great.
