I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run
Unfortunately in July 2025 we heard those dreaded words of we’re sorry we can’t find heart beats and unfortunately we lost our twins. Our world was flipped upside down and unfortunately there is no NHS support for losses before 12 weeks. I have been greatful for the support Sands offer in times which have felt very confusing and tough for us both
I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby.
I was fortunate that my work gave me as much time as I needed and continue to be understanding around missed milestones. This is not the case for many women and something sands continues to advocate for.
