Walking 100k in September in Memory of Luna and Ben

This September, I’m taking part in the Sands Charity Walk 100k in memory of my precious daughter Luna, my big brother Ben, and all the babies gone too soon.

My beautiful daughter Luna heartbreakingly came into the world sleeping on 21st December 2023. She was named Luna because, during a very difficult pregnancy, the moon was the only thing that brought me even a flicker of comfort and still does. It was so big, so bright and made me smile when little else could. Friends and family often send me photos of the moon which gives me comfort, just knowing they are remembering my beautiful Luna.

I’m also walking for my big brother Ben. He was born on 9th September 1989 and passed away just five days later. Though I never got to meet him, my family always spoke of him with love, we often talk about what he would have been like. My parents read me the book “Water Bugs and Dragonflies”, and through that story, I came to understand that Ben, though out of reach, is always around, a bright star in the sky watching over us.
